[Zuko turns his communicator on, but there is only silence for a long time. He doesn't really know what to say. After a while, he speaks, voice quiet and flat.]
I'm... back.
[.......]
I apologize for having worried you.
[And that's it. The communicator shuts off with a soft click.]

Hello pep-talk from random stranger :|
Date: 2009-08-22 04:26 pm (UTC)I know it's probably not something you want to wake up to, being here an' all but, let me tell you I'm pretty damn impressed.
I know you don't know me, but I've been watching these things since I got here...not much else for me to do really since I'm recovering too. You've been through hell and came back. That's something. I'm sure your Nakama are glad to see you're alive.
Don't sweat it. You're one hell of a fighter.
LOL Zuko's like wuuuuut?
Date: 2009-08-22 08:37 pm (UTC)...what are Nakama?
[Yep. That's all he has to say, because the other alternative was 'Are you stalking me?' :| ]
a;lskdjfksj Not a stalker D:
Date: 2009-08-23 04:20 am (UTC)Nakama... It means friends, allies, comrades. Though for some it can have a deeper meaning and can be used to describe those that are important to you. Like family or very close friends who may as well be family.
I should probably introduce myself. My name is Ace. Portgas D. Ace.
I've been stuck in the hospital since I got here. So I've been passing time by reading or listening to the people here.
LOL <3 (btw, Zuko speaks English. Hope Ace does. LMAO)
Date: 2009-08-23 06:02 am (UTC)My name is Zuko... if you hadn't gathered that from, uh, your pastime using the comm.
I don't blame you though. I spent far too long in the hospital myself, and the communicator's okay for entertainment when you're dying of boredom.
:| b (He does!)
Date: 2009-08-23 06:08 am (UTC)Nice to meet you Zuko.
I find the people interesting, so it helps. Honestly being in the hospital is better than being in prison.

Date: 2009-08-23 06:59 am (UTC)Most of them are pirates, like myself. I was going to be executed.
Needless to say, this place isn't so bad for me. I'm alive and when I've healed, I'll be free...for the most part.
Uh-oh. You're a criminal. >|
Date: 2009-08-23 07:06 am (UTC)Just a litt-- okay a really big, well known one, but a nice one none-the-less :3
Date: 2009-08-23 07:19 am (UTC)I'm not going to tell you that I'm a 'good guy'. But I'm not as bad as most of them. Our crew follows a strict code. The Marines just aren't too fond of us because we refuse to follow their laws.
lol Zuko was a traitor for a while. Maybe they can relate. haha
Date: 2009-08-23 08:26 am (UTC)Is your government corrupt, Ace?
Maybe~ maybe~ they both were in prison after all.
Date: 2009-08-23 04:19 pm (UTC)In some ways, yes. Many of the officials are mindless dogs or wealthy bureaucrats.
The Marines even have some of the strongest pirates working under them against the rest of us. I was offered the position myself but declined.
Yeah, and Zuko totally gets the whole corrupt leader thing :|
Date: 2009-08-23 11:01 pm (UTC)I can understand why you'd decline such an offer. A government is set in place to serve the people's will and protect them. Hiring criminals is hardly an honorable thing for your soldiers to do.

Date: 2009-08-24 02:43 am (UTC)That and I didn't want to be their lap dog. Not that they really have as much control over the Shichibukai like they think they do.
no subject
Date: 2009-08-24 02:55 am (UTC)Shichibukai? Is that your crew?
no subject
Date: 2009-08-24 02:59 am (UTC)The Shichibukai are those dogs I was talking about. The pirates hired by the Marines.

Date: 2009-08-24 03:11 am (UTC)Are the pirates in your world mercenaries then?
no subject
Date: 2009-08-24 03:36 am (UTC)Some of them. There're all types.
no subject
Date: 2009-08-24 03:57 am (UTC)Hmm.
[Sorry, Ace, he doesn't know all that much about pirates and he's kind of starting to lose interest and get gloomy again.]
no subject
Date: 2009-08-24 04:38 am (UTC)Insert drawn out, uncomfortable silence here.]
...anyway, don't sweat it kid. You're alive. That's what counts. Pick yourself up and get the hell out there and be strong for your Nakama. They need you.
[Ya know, instead of moping and being emo about the fact you died.]
no subject
Date: 2009-08-24 05:12 am (UTC)Don't worry about me.
And quit calling me "kid," will you?I plan to look out for my fr-- Nakama, whether I have my Firebending or not.
no subject
Date: 2009-08-24 05:18 am (UTC)I've been hearing that a lot lately. I'm inclined to think I should worry anyway.
Firebending huh? Sounds like something I'd have to see for myself one day.
[He's a smart man, he can put two and two together and figure out what firebending is. It intrigues him to no end that there's another fire user \o/]

Date: 2009-08-24 06:01 am (UTC)[Ffff, sorry, Ace, he appreciates it, he does. He just really hates making people worry about him.]
I can't Firebend right now.
no subject
Date: 2009-08-24 10:48 pm (UTC)Many of my friends have been telling me not to worry and one of the ones who said it the most just died of the same thing you did.
[He didn't mean for that to come off a little bitter.]
Neither can I. [Think on that second Firelord Emo.]
no subject
Date: 2009-08-24 11:06 pm (UTC)Sorry about your friend.
[He sounds a little taken aback, and he means it.]
...are you mocking me?
[Firelord Emo doesn't get what you meant. :| ]

Date: 2009-08-24 11:18 pm (UTC)[His voice is very even and calm. No hurt feelings kid, it's alright.]
No, I'm sorry. I can normally manipulate fire myself.
