I suppose the best way to describe it to you would be to say that it's not completely unlike the 'bending' she described to me. Alchemy is a developed science in my world and utilizes every element that exists. To perform basic alchemy, written or carved arrays and calculations are used. The people of my world have studied it for centuries.
It can even be used for healing using the natural flow of the earth around us.

Every element? Calculations and carvings... It sounds kinda different to me. But the part about using the natural flow of the earth is similar.

As far as I know, the only kind of Bending that can heal is Waterbending.
