14 - [accidental video] Well, this can't be good...

[The video turns on as Zuko sets it down on the floor, his hand blocking the lens briefly before he moves away and the camera shows the inside of the warehouse, as well as the young Firelord a few yards away. He stands straight, eyes closed, and moves his arms slowly in a circular gesture while taking a deep breath. Some more arm movements follow, apparently some sort of set ritual form, and then he opens his eyes and falls into a fighting stance, knees bent and fists held out in front of him.

Taking another deep breath, he suddenly takes a quick step forward, right arm punching the air and letting forth a small burst of flame. He makes a face--apparently this was far from the desired result--and tries again, without much better success.

He frowns and tries a different stance, but as he takes another step forward, a strange look crosses his face. Brow furrowed, he attempts to Firebend again, but halfway through the motion, he sways dangerously.

Startled, he moves toward the nearby wall for support, but with the first step, his knees buckle and Zuko soundlessly crumples to the stone floor.]

How long have you been feeling ill?

[Zuko opens his eyes a little, trying to focus them on his uncle. He's shivering uncontrollably, breath coming in short, uneven gasps.

After a few moments of fighting for his voice, he manages a strained reply]

It n-never... went away... s-since the procedure.

There's a doctor on the way. Your firebending is still too out of control to risk the hospital, but if need be, I will get you there.

[his face is grim, far more so than when Zuko was ill in Ba Sing Se. This is not an illness brought on by uncertainty. Uncertainty, Zuko can overcome. Infection . . .]
