Dr. Muraki? I need to speak with you.

There have been some recent developments. Mai woke up, for one. I also think I've aggravated some of my wounds, accidentally. In any case, you wouldn't believe how much I loathe having to say this, but perhaps we should wait one more day.

Also, I want to talk to you about some other things. Can you meet with me?

I will have to look into my schedule, naturally, but otherwise, I am capable of meeting with you.

Of what matter do you wish to talk about?

It's certainly good to know that your friend has awoken. How is she faring?

Kurosaki Hisoka, isn't it?

He was a patient of mine some time ago. I was called to treat him before his death from a terminal disease.

The powers of science can only amount to much, and his illness had been a terrible one indeed.

I must warn you about him and his kind as well, Mr. Zuko. There is a definite danger that comes to those who would choose to connect themselves with guardians of death.

The dead who refuse to pass over to the afterlife and instead continue to exist at the expense of the living.

In my world, yes.

I understand such things matter little here with the existence of the chips.

He was alive in our world before arriving here. A guardian of death is as his title implies.

Kurosaki Hisoka is a guardian of death, yes. And I would not claim to be an expert in the bureaucracy of the afterlife, but from what I know they take the souls of the dead back with them.

End the lives who refuse to go out at their preordained time.

I wasn't aware.

No, Kurosaki Hisoka died of an illness. An unknown degenerative cell disease.

However, if you ask me this question because you think I may just be a guardian of death myself; I am quite alive, thank you. My knowledge of them stems from a patient of mine being entangled with them.

Yes. It would be easier for you as well. Rest easy and keep away from the communicator for now.

Take as much rest as you can at the moment. Stress will only serve to aggravate your condition.

I will visit on an afternoon, when you are awake and I am free, of course.

I will try to make it tomorrow. Do not be offended in any way.

Now, you ought to rest. As a doctor, I might be inclined to see the extent of these injuries myself to see how you are doing, indeed.

[ ooc; So I'll just reply to it with a note saying as much? :) ]
